Area Dressage Qualifier Report

Although Sunday began with an unusually cloudy sky, (a somewhat welcome change from the scorching days of late), the sun soon broke through and the day ended with huge beaming smiles as there was yet another strong performance by Threewaters Riding Club, when both teams put in an excellent performance in the Senior Prelim 14 Class, at the Area Dressage Qualifier at St Leonard's Riding Centre, Launceston.  The final result, in this closely contested class, saw the Blue Team taking the red ribbons and qualifying for the National Championships in Lincoln in September, with the Red Team taking third place overall.  In addition, Threewaters member Sally Weedon qualified as an individual competitor, with an outstanding score of 75%.

The Blue Team ( Jane Dyer riding Quest for Gold, Heather Child on Benjamin Britton, Jess Robson riding Zeus of Gemini and Martin Dyer with Third Time Lucky), all  finished in the top 10, with Martin leading the scoreboard on 75.4%, Jess finishing 6th with 70.4%, Jane close behind in 7th place with 69.1% and Heather in 8th place with 68.7%.  The Red Team of Anne Richardson (Coswarth Glad Rags), Sally Weedon (Zibeon), Charlotte Bennett (Pye) and Karen Jones (Trevescan Diamond), also performed strongly to finish in 3rd position, with Anne on 62%, Sally with 75%, Charlotte on 66.6% and Karen on 66.2%.

Congratulations to all the competitors (who rode so well in very warm conditions) and have helped to maintain the high profile that the Club is enjoying, with a qualifying team for the National ODE Championships, an individual qualifier in the Style Show Jumping and now a Prelim dressage team to fly the Threewaters' flag at National level.  Thanks also go to Jane Fisher, the Area Organiser, to Andy Reeve for the venue and to Jackie Thomson for stewarding on behalf of the club.
