Another very successful weekend for Threewaters' members at the National Championships, this time in Lincoln for the Dressage and Style Jumping, and judging from the photos everyone had a fantastic time, both on and off the horses!
We combined forces with West Devon while there to make an Area 19 team in the Novice Dressage, and lent them Jess Robson on Lucy to make up their Show Jumping team, so co-operation and collaboration ruled the day.
Martin Dyer came 5th individually, and Jane Dyer 9th with the borrowed Sandra Jones 10th. Unfortunately Sally Weedon had to retire so we only had three scores to count which makes the team placing of 11th even more commendable, very well done to all of them.
Nicky Palmer joined an Area 19 Style Jumping Team which came 8th overall, and Jess Robson's West Devon team came 5th in the Show Jumping, so everyone came home laden with lovely Championship rosettes.
Many thanks go to Maggie Docking and the team Mascot, Spencer Bear, who went along to help with the driving (not the bear) and general support, and that doesn't just mean she poured the wine!
Team competitions can be great fun, our next qualifier is the Festival of the Horse Jump Cross at Chyverton on the 13th October, that one starts at 90 cm but there are lots more through the year at lesser heights or just Dressage, or Dressage with Show Jumping, or just Show Jumping etc. etc. so if you fancy giving it a go just put your name forward and we'll take it from there. As a club we aim for the teams to be fun and support each other, usually with cake, - there is no pressure to do amazingly well so come along and enjoy!
