Camp, Camp, Camp - spaces going fast!
Friday 2nd June-Sunday 4th June at Chiverton Park Equestrian Centre
Lesson's on Friday afternoon, Saturday morning and afternoon and Sunday morning, but if anyone can't make Friday afternoon we may be able to put some lessons on the Sunday afternoon instead.
We have three excellent instructors with the return of Andrew Lovell who is always so popular, Andrew is a BHSI and trains all disciplines with a lovely sense of humour and confidence giving manner. Clare Deithrick is also joining us again, Clare is a listed dressage judge and really brings out the best in riders and horses as she teaches them. Last but not least is Karen Cowling, during the winter Karen taught some sessions at Knightswood and these proved very popular with all those going on them asking for more, she events successfully and has a wealth of experience teaching at all levels.
We will be doing dressage, show jumping and cross country at camp, but you can pick just one or two disciplines if you want to and we will work the timetable out to fit everyone in with what they want to do as much as possible. As usual we will keep the groups a small as possible so you really come away from camp having learnt something - as well as having had a great time!
This year we are hoping to share the catering out amongst the camp goers, our idea is that if everyone going prepares either a savoury meal, or a vegetable dish, or a dessert for eight people, we will have the meals sorted between us. Those with fabulous cookery skills can put them to the test, and those who are not so talented in that department can bring a salad or something. It would be something like a chicken curry for the savoury, or a crumble for the dessert, we would have to agree what we're going to eat and share out what people are going to bring and, of course, we will still need some home made cakes! All money spent will be refunded when you give us the receipts. There will be a tick section on the camp application form for you to say what type of dish you would like to bring and then we can work it out from there. This will keep the cost of camp down and spread the work load without anyone doing too much so hopefully this will work out well.
We also thought it would be fun to have a BBQ on the Saturday night and invite any family and friends, and other club members, who might like to come along. BBQ food for the campers is included in the camp price, and there will be a small fee for visitors to cover the cost of the food, or they can bring their own!
The cost of camp will be £185 per person which includes bedding and haylage for the horses, but not hard feed, and all meals for the campers, because it's spread over three days not two, it's slightly more expensive than last year.
We always have a great time at camp coupled with some brilliant training, so I hope to see you there.
