Jumping training with Sally Gentle

2016 Icon CrosscountryTrainingSaturday 14th May at Knightswood EC - Show Jumping and XC training with Sally Gentle

Especially for Young horses, Novice riders and anyone wanting Grass Routes Training.

We'll be bringing a few XC fences into the Arena along with some rustic show jumps to get you started with XC. The portables are 0 - 75 cm so this is really to give confidence and start you going, suitable for absolute first timers upwards. Groups of 4 or less, £25 for an hour

Following on from this the same XC portables will be on their Xc course and we'll be having another session in June to practice out on the course, so the horses will have seen the jumps in the school, then meet them again in the field. An ideal introduction for young horses and ideal confidence giver for everyone.

Intermediate Dressage and show jumping Championships - a great weekend of fun and competition!

The Threewaters show jumping team, Georgina Young (Talitha), Alison Steele (Jago Trewerne) and Sarah Stokes, having qualified with a team of 3, lost Sarah and ended up making up an Area 19 team with Rachel Short from West Devon.

The team jumped really well over the first round to go through with 4 faults. A huge and technical second round caused many problems for the teams in general and Threewaters did brilliantly to end just out of the placings in 11th.

In the dressage section the highlight of the weekend was a fantastic win in the Novice arena for Maggie Docking riding her impressive chestnut Paybacktime - Sid to his friends! Maggie scored 71.8% to be a clear winner and National Champion in her arena! Maggie has owned Sid since a foal and has carefully produced him. Her hard work and dedication has certainly paid off now with Sid becoming a consistent dressage horse in Novice and Elementary!

The dressage team was Georgina Young,( Lenordini) Elementary,  Laima Davies (Hollyday) Novice,  Maggie Docking (Paybacktime) Novice and Jane Dyer (Third Time Lucky) Prelim. Jean Buckland (Ballinvella Molly) rode as an individual.

Georgina was 24th in her arena, Laima was 18th, Jane was 7th and Maggie won. This put the team 7th!

Georgina and Laima's results were uncharacteristic but that's dressage for you! Jean also had a slightly disappointing test which was a real shame as she had been determined to get there making the journey on her own with Molly in the trailer.

The weekend was great fun with brilliant team spirit between the Area 19 riders. British Riding Clubs ran a lovely event in a super event venue and to put the icing on the cake the sun shone ... except for one heavy hail shower when poor Maggie was warming up!
